30th May – 1st JUNE 2019
Euston Hall, Suffolk
Red Rooster have today announced the first wave of acts for next summer’s festival, and some great names there are too. I am particularly pleased and excited to see that Dale Watson and his Lone Stars are among them. Anyone who saw his Norwich Arts Centre set for Punk Rock Blues a year or two ago will know what a consummate entertainer he is. Founder of the Ameripolitan music awards his style of country music is the real deal. Fans of old-school country, pure honky-tonk, Cash, Jennings and other such outlaws will love him and his terrific band. That NAC date is one of my favourite gig memories, on the Red Rooster big stage he will be a sensation.
RED ROOSTER ANNOUNCES FIRST RUN OF ARTISTS FOR 2019
Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets
Low Cut Connie
Dale Watson & His Lone Stars – Jesse Dayton
Errol Linton – William the Conqueror – Joli Blon Cajun Band
A couple of years back Nick Lowe packed out the main stage area for his headline solo slot and will be returning in 2019 with new band Los Straightjackets. That same year I was really impressed by Errol Linton and am pleased that he is also making a return visit. New names to me that I am looking forward to are Low Cut Connie, Jesse Dayton, William the Conqueror, and Joli Blon Cajun Band. I’m already excited for Red Rooster 2019 which is already shaping up nicely. This is the festival for fans of RnB, Americana, Blues, Soul, Roots and Country. Wonderful grounds, great food, bourbon, a special atmosphere and fantastic music.

“Red Rooster festival is delighted to announce the first run of artists for 2019.
Returning this time with his new full band on their first ever UK headline festival appearance is the legendary Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets, who are set to grace the main stage on Friday night. Nick Lowe has made his mark as a producer (Elvis Costello-Graham Parker-Pretenders-The Damned) and songwriter of a catalogue of classic songs and has enjoyed a lengthy term as a musicians’ musician. Today he is the silver-haired, tender-hearted, but sharp-tongued singer-songwriter; he has no equal. Nick is joined by the Mexican wrestling mask-bedecked, masters of guitar instrumentals, Los Straitjackets – a show not to be missed!
Straight out of Philadelphia, with Rolling Stone recently included Dirty Pictures (Part 2) on their list of the 50 Best Albums of 2018 so far, rock n’ rollers Low Cut Connie will be tearing up the main stage, bringing their ferocious live show straight to Euston Hall.
Also joining Red Rooster 2019 is Dale Watson, the honky tonk hero and country music maverick and a true outlaw carrying on where Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard left off. A member of the Austin Music Hall of Fame, he stands alongside Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and George Jones as one of the finest country singers and songwriters from the Lone Star State.
Born and raised on the Texas / Louisiana border and now based in Austin Texas, Jessie Dayton hits the main stage at Red Rooster this summer too. Best known for his guitar contributions to albums by country musicians including Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson, Dayton’s story reads like a Who’s Who of American Music.
Brixton born and bred musician Errol Linton joins the bill with his remarkable Mississippi blues harmonica music, whilst Loose Records signing, Cornwall trio William the Conqueror head to Red Rooster for the first time, having picking up praise from far flung corners. Ruarri Joseph’s debut album, Proud Disturber of the Peace, was released in 2017 to widespread critical acclaim and was shortlisted for the 2018 UK Americana Awards “UK Album of the Year”. The British women’s Cajun band Joli Blon Cajun Band, will also be joining the line-up this summer.”
