The Sheringham ’40s Weekender

One of my favourite annual events is The Sheringham 1940s Weekender in which all the stations on the Poppy Line also take part.  The towns are transformed into wartime Britain with protective tape on most of the shop windows, beer and bands on the station platform and of course the beautiful steam trains which take passengers along the Poppy Line on the North Norfolk Railway as far as Holt where they too lay on a great event and have many vintage stalls. Well worth a visit to this very popular event but do make an effort to dress up or you will feel the odd one out!
