Tony Brook at The Plasterers Arms, Norwich 23 August 2015
Despite the afternoon turning somewhat rainy just before I was about to set out I could not resist another opportunity to hear some more authentic southern blues from the visiting gentleman from Alabama that is Tony Brook.
The rain became torrential as I arrived and a short time later Tony in bandana and Neil Young t-shirt, resonator and stomp-box started his set with a few well chosen rain-themed songs, opening with Rainy Night in Georgia.
The Plasterers was a lovely place to hear him on a Sunday afternoon, needless he went down even more of a storm than the strong competition the weather provided. Everyone loved him.
He’s here for another week or two and I hope I’ll be lucky enough to hear him again before he returns. He has certainly been a very welcome presence these past weeks, a superb musician and a very, very fine chap indeed.
Many thanks to Tony, Yve, and The Plasterers.
