It’s been a while since I was able to catch one of 4D Jones’ occasional get-together gigs, for one reason or another regrettably missing some blistering recent ones but I was delighted to see them this time at Norwich’s Ribs of Beef pub.
They are such a fantastically good live band, playing for the absolute joy of it and that is reflected in the audience who had a blast. The place was absolutely rammed and everyone was dancing, even the bar staff. The door had to be opened to cool the place down it was so hot and cooking, and blues, r&b, singalongs and cheering must have wafted out onto the street. This was definitely the place to be on a chilly but sunny spring afternoon with the band playing three storming sets and still the crowd were begging for more at the end of it all. An absolute belter of a pub gig and tremendously good fun.
