Ihsan Mosque Norwich shown lots of love after windows smashed

Following an incident at the weekend where the Ihsan Mosque in Norwich had a couple of windows smashed, the city quickly got together to implement the excellent suggestion of “lovebombing” it with hearts and messages of love and solidarity. It is unclear whether the incident of the smashed windows was a random and mindless act of vandalism or, as seems likely, something more sinister but for those using the mosque it will have been a frightening act. Once again Norwich has shown that the vast majority of its residents are inclusive and welcoming with this beautiful show of solidarity and will not tolerate hate crime. On Monday countless paper hearts were stuck to the door of the mosque like beautiful butterflies, full of messages of support from We Are Norwich, Ruth Phelps as well as many other spontaneous individual ones too from an initial suggestion by Rachel Khaled. Well done Norwich.
