There are a number of notable festive gis, parties and record launches coming up over the next month or two. Tonight (12th) at Open there is the Festival Asylum party, headlined by Dreadzone. On the same night is Big Boy Bloater at The Talk, and a rare appearance by the brilliant Arlenes at the Music House Acoustic(ish) session.
On Saturday 13th, The Thinking Men have a gig with Das Fenster and the Alibis at Epic (with a live internet stream), whilst Swing City have a Christmas party on Sunday afternoon/evening at the Assembly Rooms.
Next week Solko play with By the Rivers at Norwich Arts Centre on the 17th and on the following day in the same venue is the Tilting Sky Christmas party with Morganway. The Piratones launch their much-anticipated EP with a splendid looking launch night in the Open Club Room on the 19th, whilst on the same evening The Rumble launch their new single at Norwich Arts Centre with Little Red Kings, and Killamonjambo play at their Christmas party at The Blueberry, and The SweetBeats at Epic.
The Vagaband host their annual Midwinter Moonshine at the Arts Centre on Sunday 21st with support from the Henry Brothers, Lank Smith & the Pythons, and dj Hank Jd Sleek. Earlier in the day Penguins Go Pop play a couple of sets at The Blueberry.
New Year’s Eve means a Bo Nanafana party with a Hitchcockian “VertiBo” at the Talk through til 3am with music, cabaret, surprises and all the Bo wonderfulness.
On the 9th January the Grazing Saints launch their sure-to-be-brilliant album with a gig at Open’s Club Room with Dr. Clyde, Little Red Kings, and Jessie Q and the Earthquakes. Quite some line up!
The 16th at Norwich Arts Centre is another album launch, this time by Addison’s Uncle, always fun and entertaining this should be excellent.
There are of course countless other gigs and events taking place, this being just a selection of the launch gigs happening in the coming weeks.
