Tallowah at The Blueberry, Saint Bob Marley Day, fundraiser for the Pricilla Bacon Lodge, 6 February 2014. Review and photos.
A lovely idea for a fundraiser at the ever-improving Blueberry, on the occasion of Bob Marley’s birthday. With Caribbean food and offer, plus a selection of djs and cocktails, the evening’s finale was provided by some beautiful laid-back reggae grooves by regular visitors to Norfolk, the excellent Tallowah. The Blueberry makes for an excellent music venue, with more than decent sound, friendly staff and some super ales.
Previewing some new songs from their forthcoming EP the band sounded tight and excited by the new material. So were the audience too by the looks of it, who danced throughout. There is some great percussion in this band, and a marvellous brass section too, as well as some excellent guitar by vocalist Joe.
The only slight shame was that it had to finish a bit early being a “school night” but I would love to see this band back here at the same venue on a Friday or Saturday night. They’d be guaranteed to pack the place out and it would be jumping!
Always lovely to see Tallowah visiting Norwich, and I know they impressed a lot of people seeing them for the first time today.
